Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Service Writer/Service Manager to join our automotive service team. Duties
- Greet customers warmly, listen to their vehicle concerns, and accurately document service needs.
- Prepare detailed repair orders, including labor estimates and parts pricing, utilizing auto estimating tools.
- Communicate effectively with technicians regarding diagnosis results, necessary repairs, and timelines.
- Sell additional services such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, suspension work, or transmission repairs to maximize customer value.
- Manage the entire service process from vehicle intake through completion, ensuring quality control and timely delivery.
- Handle cash transactions accurately and maintain meticulous records of all financial dealings.
- Provide clear explanations of repair procedures to clients, ensuring understanding of recommended services and costs.
- Supervise service technicians’ workflow, monitor progress on repairs like collision repair or auto body work, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Maintain client communication throughout the service process to update on vehicle status or additional recommendations.
- Lead efforts in selling maintenance packages or additional repairs based on vehicle diagnostics and service tables.
Skills
- Proficiency with estimating software and estimating tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
- Strong sales acumen with a focus on selling services that enhance vehicle performance and safety.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining detailed records of all financial activities.
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes work is highly desirable.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
