Summary
Caldwell County Primary School is seeking a dedicated and reliable custodian to join our team in the afternoon and evening hours. This part-time position is essential for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in custodial services, ensuring that our facilities are well-kept and conducive to learning.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas daily.
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors, ensuring all surfaces are free of debris and dirt.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with school policies.
- Restock supplies in restrooms and other areas as needed.
- Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture for school events and activities.
- Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, reporting any major issues to the Facilities Manager.
- Ensure that all cleaning equipment and supplies are used safely and stored properly.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to support school initiatives and events.
- Conduct periodic inspections of the premises to identify areas needing attention.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience, particularly in an educational setting, is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, along with safe handling procedures.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must pass background checks as required by school district policies.
