We're seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Payroll & HR Specialist to join our team. This position plays a key role in supporting payroll, human resources, compliance, and accounting functions within a busy construction environment.

What You'll Do
- Process payrolls and maintain payroll records and reporting
- Prepare payroll reports, general ledger entries, and compliance tracking
- Support employee onboarding, offboarding, and personnel record maintenance
- Coordinate background checks, DMV record reviews, and Clearinghouse queries
- Maintain employee certifications, training records, and compliance documentation
- Assist with benefits administration and enrollment processing
- Support regulatory reporting, including EEO-1, OSHA, L&I, apprenticeship, and insurance audit requirements
- Gather and provide documentation for internal and external audits
- Reconcile employee benefits and coordinate payments with Accounts Payable
- Provide backup support for Accounts Payable and other accounting functions
- Support driver qualification file compliance and internal records audits
- Assist with certified payroll and project-specific reporting when applicable
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in payroll, HR administration, accounting, or a combination of these functions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently and follow through on responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Strong systems aptitude with the ability to learn, navigate, and troubleshoot payroll, HRIS, and accounting platforms
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Experience with certified payroll or prevailing wage reporting is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Compensation & Benefits
- $35.00–$38.50 per hour DOE
- Eligible for a discretionary annual bonus based on individual and company performance
