We are seeking a passionate and dedicated VPK (Voluntary Prekindergarten) Teacher to inspire and nurture young learners in their early childhood development journey. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori and other child-centered approaches.
- Facilitate engaging lessons that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and social skills development tailored to preschool-aged children.
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that supports child welfare and behavior management.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, address concerns, and foster collaborative relationships.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools to monitor each child's developmental milestones and tailor instruction accordingly.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare while maintaining accurate documentation of student progress.
- Maintain current knowledge of early intervention strategies, special education accommodations, and childhood development best practices to support diverse learner needs.
Skills
- Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings, demonstrating strong classroom management skills.
- Expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing age-appropriate instructional strategies.
- Knowledge of child development principles, early intervention techniques, and special education requirements.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Ability to manage behavior constructively while fostering positive social interactions among students.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required; ongoing professional development in early childhood education is highly valued.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or experience teaching physical education enhances your ability to create well-rounded learning experiences.
