Performs skilled work at the journey level in the installation, repair, and maintenance of complex air-conditioning (A/C), heating and refrigeration equipment. Maintains and repairs air compressors, control valves, exhaust and ventilation fans, air-handler units, electronic and pneumatic controls, chillers and condensing towers. Maintains records of all equipment servicing and repairs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification, supplemented by completion of a two (2) year technical/vocational A/C and Refrigeration program; minimum of four (4) years of experience in industrial/commercial A/C and Refrigeration OR completion of a four (4) year apprenticeship program in A/C and Refrigeration AND two (2) years of experience in industrial/commercial A/C and Refrigeration.
Necessary Special Requirement: Must obtain Universal Certification in Transition and Recovery of Refrigerants within six (6) months of hire.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE: Performing maintenance work in an industrial/commercial facility; troubleshooting/repairing various electrical circuits; using building automation systems/computerized controls. Also desirable: Possession of a valid Universal Certification in Transition and Recovery of Refrigerants.
