The Laboratory Technician performs all functions associated with preparing monomer formulas, packaging solutions and is trained as a backup for the other proficiencies. Responsible for providing materials to manufacturing areas, perform all analytical test for release of formulations and troubleshooting.

This role ensures the laboratory functions efficiently, providing critical support to manufacturing by preparing materials, conducting tests, and ensuring that formulations meet required specifications.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of ISO, FDA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
- Strong interpersonal to work in a team-centered environment
- Intermediate skill in Excel, Word and Outlook and able to learn business systems such as Agile, SAMM and CVML.
- Strong ability to work independently in a self-directed manner
- Proficient reading, writing, and communicating in English
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot equipment, and make minor adjustments as needed.

Experience:
2 years’ experience and associate’s degree in chemistry; OR 5 years’ experience in a laboratory setting
Education:
- High School diploma or GED equivalency required.
Associate’s degree in chemistry preferred.

The hourly pay range for this position is $22.70 to $28.00 per hour. Compensation offered will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, skills, qualifications, and education.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Preparation of monomer mixes and packaging solution, including release testing and all associated documentation. Following SOPs and formulas specifics to product being prepared.
- Performs operational set-up of batch processing, production, testing, approvals, and all associate documentation.
- Ensures laboratory areas are cleaned prior to next shift.
- Responsible for accurately maintaining legible and accurate records, required logs, books, records, and other procedures.
- Reports all discrepancies (i.e., testing, autoclave cycle, etc.) to the Coordinator or Supervisor.
- Regularly clean and maintain all equipment and instrumentation including glassware, carboys, etc.
- Develop and implement procedures compliant with Regulatory and Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
- Performs raw material receipt, testing and all associated documentation as directed.
- Manage supply and raw material ordering for the lab(s) as needed.
- Execute engineering studies and validations per management direction.
- Provide training and documentation for all elements of the Material Preparations Laboratory workflow including training of others in a back-up / support role.
- Assist Calibration and Maintenance Departments with preventive maintenance, verifications and calibrations of equipment and instrumentation.
- As business needs dictate, work extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks and may include mandatory overtime.
