Physical Therapy Assistants work closely with Physical Therapists and other PTAs to provide rehabilitative care to patients. Duties and responsibilities of a Physical Therapy Assistant include but are not limited to the following:
Patient assessment:-
Observing patients before, during, and after therapy to monitor progress and report findings to the physical therapist.

Treatment implementation:

Performing manual therapy techniques like stretching, massage, and joint mobilizations as directed by the physical therapist.

Exercise instruction:

Guiding patients through specific exercises to improve strength, range of motion, and functional abilities.

Equipment usage:

Setting up and operating therapeutic equipment like electrical stimulation units, traction devices, and exercise machines.

Patient education:

Instructing patients and their families on home exercise programs and proper use of assistive devices.

Documentation:

Maintaining detailed patient records, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries.

Communication:

Collaborating with the physical therapist to adjust treatment plans as needed and communicating any concerns or changes in patient status.
