Position Title: Youth Ministry Coordinator
Status: Part-Time
Locations: Salem Methodist Church 2165 Middle Rd. Eastover, NC 28213

Actively seeking to fill our Youth Ministry Coordinator role for our children's programs at Salem. This position will support the youth by providing leadership and oversight over youth activities. They will working closely with parents and volunteers to create an environment that supports the spiritual, emotional, and social growth of young members in the faith of Jesus Christ.
Key Qualifications:
A deep personal faith in Jesus Christ and a passion for working with children and youth.
Must be at least 23 years of age to meet safe sanctuary requirements.
Previous experience in children’s or youth ministry, preferably in a leadership role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children, youth, and their families.
Ability to lead teams of volunteers and collaborate with other church staff.
CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Successfully pass a background check and submit to random drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in managing budgets and church administration.
Proficiency in using social media or church management software to communicate with families.
Working Conditions:
Regular weekend and evening work for events, services, and meetings.
Flexibility in hours, as ministry activities may vary seasonally.
Bend, scoop, reach, and lift up to 45 lbs.
Position Overview:
Leadership and Ministry Oversight
- Develop, implement, and oversee programs for children and youth that align with the church's vision and mission.
- Provide spiritual guidance and mentorship to children, youth, and their families.
- Plan and lead age-appropriate activities, such as Sunday school, youth group meetings, retreats, Bible studies, and camps.
2. Spiritual Development
- Teach children and youth biblical principles, values, and life skills through lessons, activities, and service projects.
- Encourage the development of a personal relationship with Christ through prayer, worship, and fellowship.
- Foster an environment where children and youth feel valued, loved, and encouraged in their faith.
3. Family Support and Involvement
- Work with families to help them integrate faith practices into daily life.
- Organize family events, such as family worship nights, parent-child retreats, and educational workshops.
- Coordinate bible centered activities for the youth and children during church events by actively recruiting, facilitating, and developing teams.
4. Community and Outreach
- Plan and implement outreach programs engaging local children, youth, and their families in the life of the church.
- Build relationships with local schools, community centers, and other organizations to extend the church's influence.
5. Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, participation, and family involvement in ministry programs.
- Manage budgets for children and youth ministries.
- Communicate effectively with church staff, volunteers, parents, and the congregation through newsletters, meetings, and social media.
- Provide ongoing training and background checks for volunteer leaders to ensure they are equipped for their roles and responsibilities.
All policies and procedures are expected to be adhered to and followed closely. This includes being knowledgeable in and adhering to Safe Sanctuaries practices and policies. The employee will adhere to the employee handbook, perform the above listed duties, and all other duties assigned by the Senior Pastor.
