As a Senior Security Specialist – Personnel Security (PERSEC) supporting Army Futures Command (AFC) Headquarters Support Battalion S2, you will serve as the lead contractor subject matter expert supporting the command’s personnel security mission. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Army (DA), and Intelligence Community (IC) personnel security regulations while enabling secure mission execution across a high-visibility headquarters environment.
The Senior Security Specialist will provide day-to-day PERSEC program management, adjudication support, security education and training, reporting, and liaison coordination directly supporting AFC HQ Support Battalion S2 operations. This position requires a highly organized and experienced security professional capable of operating independently while advising leadership on complex personnel security matters.
This is an on-site position supporting AFC headquarters operations in Austin and Round Rock, Texas.

Lead and manage daily Personnel Security (PERSEC) operations in support of AFC Headquarters.
- Monitor compliance with DoD, Army, and Intelligence Community personnel security requirements.
- Develop, review, update, and maintain PERSEC procedures, SOPs, and security guidance.
- Provide subject matter expertise regarding adjudication processes, clearance eligibility, and continuous evaluation requirements.

Research, analyze, and document complex personnel security actions for government review.
- Prepare PERSEC case packages, appeals, supporting documentation, and adjudication actions.
- Track investigations, reinvestigations, clearance actions, and adjudication status.
- Maintain accurate personnel security records and case management documentation.

Conduct Security Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) sessions for military, civilian, and contractor personnel.
- Provide indoctrinations, debriefings, and security counseling regarding clearance responsibilities and reporting requirements.
- Mentor and train supporting contractor personnel assigned to PERSEC operations.

Serve as liaison between AFC and external agencies including DCSA, DIA, and other DoD or service components regarding personnel security matters.
- Coordinate with CIO and other directorates to ensure PERSEC compliance for systems access and visitor control actions.
- Support PERSEC-related inspections, audits, and corrective action implementation efforts.

Develop weekly, monthly, and ad hoc PERSEC reports, metrics, and leadership updates.
- Track clearance actions, appeals, onboarding, offboarding, and personnel transitions.
- Maintain PERSEC databases and reporting tools ensuring completeness and accuracy.

Support division-level PERSEC initiatives, transition planning, and surge requirements.
- Provide backup support to other security disciplines including physical security and INFOSEC when required.
- Identify risks, issues, and recommended mitigation strategies for government leadership.
