A physician practice group is seeking a full-time physician for a post-acute care opportunity in the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek area of Michigan.
This position has been structured as a geographically aligned territory, allowing the physician to provide care across a group of skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities within the same general market.
The role is designed for a five-day-per-week schedule, with an expected daily patient census of approximately 18 patients.
This is an excellent opportunity for a physician who wants greater independence, a predictable weekday practice schedule, and the opportunity to develop meaningful, ongoing relationships with patients, families, nursing staff, and facility teams.
Physicians provide medical care to patients in both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care settings. The patient population includes individuals recovering from hospitalization as well as medically complex long-term residents who benefit from consistent physician involvement and continuity of care.
Responsibilities
- Manage acute and chronic medical conditions
- Develop and update individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing
- Prescribe and adjust medications
- Monitor patients following hospital discharge and throughout rehabilitation
- Coordinate closely with nursing staff and interdisciplinary care teams
- Communicate with patients and families regarding treatment plans and goals of care
- Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
The practice provides strong clinical and operational support, structured onboarding and training, and resources specifically designed to support physicians practicing in post-acute care.
Compensation
Competitive compensation with productivity-based earning potential. Based on anticipated patient volume, estimated annual compensation is approximately $250,000 to $300,000, with the opportunity to increase earnings based on productivity.
Qualifications
- Active Michigan medical license or eligibility to obtain one
- No unresolved disciplinary action affecting medical licensure
