Description:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, performs duties related to CNC Machine Set-Up and Operation. Prepare related documents. Maintain Machines and machine area in a clean and orderly fashion.
Job Duties:

Plans machining by studying work orders, engineering drawings, materials, specifications, ortho-graphic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters.

Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.

Programs CNC lathes/turn mills by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; set-ting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, in-cluding basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

Sets-up lathes/turn mills by installing collets, tools, attachments, bushings, stops, and stock push-ers.

Loads barfeed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to inter-national standards and provided drawings.

Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; trouble-shooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufactur-er's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregulari-ties, and continuing needs.

Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.

Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publica-tions.

Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Requirements:
- Must have minimum 10 years’ experience machining Aluminum, Stainless, Composites/Plastics, and Brass/Bronze

Must be able to make small edits to provided Programs during setup

Familiarity with Hardinge and Okuma Turn-Mills preferred

Programming Experience Preferred

Ability to modify tools with minor adjustments if required

Bi-Lingual English & Spanish Preferred (not required)
