25% - Complete installation operations and wiring of computerized energy management systems, assist in writing specifications and install additional hook-ups to systems to include wiring of sensors, security devices, fire alarms, HVAC systems, etc. Replace repair or add sensors, fuses, transistors, wiring, security devices, fire alarms, HVAC systems, and printed circuit boards. Reviews and recommends the acquisition of additional or updated hardware and software equipment based on projected facility needs, capabilities, and compatibility with existing systems. Test electronic equipment, troubleshoot or calibrate electronic devices. Analyze and interpret computer printouts, monitor and control the computer operating system, react to and ensure corrective action to alarms, analyze and diagnose system failures, maintain record of all systems, collect and prepare data for energy performance reports, make recommendations to revising or improvement of operation policies and procedures. Enter data and modify programs to change scheduling on energy, fire, security controls or lighting controls.
20% - Assist with installing conduit, pulling wires, maintaining lighting, installing branch circuits and transformers. Repairs and maintains electronic door systems. Repairs and maintains computers, and other cable electronic systems. Perform dig safe work to locate university utility lines and mark their locations for accurate documentation and reference.
5% - Attend training sessions, seminars, and workshops on new and old electronic systems. Must be available to work in emergencies and scheduled overtime situations. Training of other campus personnel of operation and maintenance of equipment. Maintain shop equipment, tools, requisition of materials, driving of vehicles as needed, recording of daily time, keeping record of materials ordered, and making decisions to keep campus operating.
Education and Experience -
Required Education and Experience at Hire-
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of related electronics, heating and air conditioning controls, and/or fire systems repair experience
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation-
- Obtain a NICET Level I Fire Alarm Systems Certification within one year of hire.
