What You’ll Need:
- Current Pennsylvania Instructional Certification in Special Education (PK–8 or an equivalent credential)
- Demonstrated classroom experience as a Special Education Teacher, preferably in an elementary setting
- Hands-on familiarity with structured teaching models such as TEACCH, PECS, or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)
- Training or knowledge in restorative practices, trauma-informed care, or implementation of positive behavior supports
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
What You’ll Do:
- Deliver individualized instruction and support to students in a therapeutic learning classroom, tailoring lessons and activities to meet diverse needs
- Integrate evidence-based practices (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, ABA) into daily instruction to facilitate student engagement and skill development
- Foster a safe, responsive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional wellbeing
- Implement accommodations and modifications in alignment with student IEPs
- Collaborate with related service providers, classroom assistants, administrators, and families to maximize student success
- Participate in ongoing professional development focused on restorative practices, trauma-informed care, and current special education strategies
