We have an immediate opening for an experienced manufacturing plant scheduler to join our team. In this role you will effectively coordinate the scheduling and expediting of production to achieve the timely shipment of orders to external customers as well as proactive communication with the customer service, procurement and operations teams.
What will you be doing?
- In coordination with the Operations Manager, analyze and propose required capacity requirements to support current and forecasted demand.
- Develop and execute inventory and scheduling strategies that meet timely delivery of products to customers and operational efficiency goals.
- Create and maintain production schedules in line with current production capacity and component availability.
- Manage the release and prioritization of work orders to the production floor.
- Collaborate with Operations, Warehouse, and Procurement to resolve material shortages and mitigate production constraints.
- Serve as the primary liaison to Customer Service by proactively communicating status of potential or actual past due orders as well as providing answers to requests from Customer Service on order status.
- Partner with and actively communicate with procurement on supply needs needed to support timely shipments, including changes to ship schedules, expedites and product repair/replacement.
- Monitor planning and inventory performance using key metrics and recommend actions to improve service, efficiency, and inventory accuracy.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning processes, ERP/MRP utilization, and overall supply chain performance.
- Participate in processes and programs aimed at continuous improvement and safety.
- Other duties as assigned.
What will you need to be successful?
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, operations, engineering or related field. APICS certification or training preferred.
- Minimum 5 years experience in production scheduling and inventory management in a manufacturing and/or a warehouse environment.
- Experience using various scheduling tools/methods including PFEP, Leveled Scheduling, Cell Optimization, and Lean Manufacturing.
- Ability to collaborate and work with others to solve problems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills.
- ERP/warehouse hardware/software knowledge.
- Microsoft Office
