Full Job Description

Johnson’s Nursery is seeking a crew leader Landscape Foreperson for landscape installation and maintenance projects! You may also assist in the harvesting of plant material but mostly lead the installation of trees, shrubs, evergreens, and perennials for residential and commercial landscape projects. The Landscape Foreperson will communicate and coordinate with Landscape Designers and customers and assist in expediting quality landscaping and landscape services.

Position Details

Full-time, year-round.
8-10 hours per day, plus Saturdays in spring.

Job Description

Assist in spring harvest.
Install trees, shrubs, evergreens, and perennials for residential and commercial landscape clients.
Communicate and coordinate with landscape designers, customers, and the expeditor to provide quality landscaping.
Transport material and equipment to job sites in company trucks and hauling trailers.
Communicate opportunities for continued improvement.
No snow work. Must possess basic mechanical knowledge and skills for winter maintenance work.
Oversee a crew of 2-6 people every day; ability to lead by example.

Qualifications

Knowledge of proper installation of trees, shrubs, mulch, drain tile, and other landscape materials.
Be able to read and implement blueprints, grade soil, and possess basic construction knowledge.
Knowledge of how to complete a landscape job professionally and efficiently.
Physical and mental toughness required. We all work hard.
Good management skills to maintain a productive and efficient job site.
Proper operational knowledge of skid loaders and other equipment (large & small).
Insurable driver’s license (through our provider).
A pesticide license is a plus, but not required.
CDL – Class A driver’s license a plus, but not required.
Attention to detail in verbal and written communication.
Positive, outgoing attitude with an internal drive to succeed.

Benefits & Compensation

$23.00-$25.00 per hour.
