Job Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable Part-Time Field Survey Taker to collect in-person survey responses around the Austin area. In this role, you will visit assigned public spots, approach people politely, ask a short set of questions, and record their answers on your phone. The responses you gather help support our marketing efforts and give us a better read on the local Austin market. No experience is needed. If you are outgoing, dependable, and comfortable starting quick conversations with strangers, you can do this job well. Responsibilities
- Travel to assigned public locations around Austin (parks, shopping areas, events, and similar foot-traffic spots).
- Politely approach members of the public and invite them to take a short survey.
- Ask a brief, scripted set of questions and record each person's answers accurately on a simple phone form.
- Aim for a set number of completed responses per shift (target shared during onboarding).
- Represent the project professionally and courteously at all times.
- Report your daily results and flag any issues or questions promptly.
Qualifications
- Comfortable and confident talking to strangers in public.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to manage your own schedule responsibly.
- Own a smartphone with a working data connection.
- Able to get around the Austin area on your own (car or public transit).
- Honest and accurate when entering responses. No making up data.
- No prior experience required. A friendly, outgoing attitude matters more than any background.
