We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) - Supervisor Trainee to join our dynamic clinical laboratory team. Duties
- Perform routine laboratory testing and specimen processing in accordance with established laboratory procedures and regulatory standards.
- Collect, label, process, and prepare patient specimens including blood and other diagnostic samples.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and analyzers.
- Ensure accuracy and timely reporting of laboratory results to providers and clinical staff.
- Maintain quality control, calibration, and documentation records.
- Follow OSHA, HIPAA, CLIA, and infection control guidelines.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering laboratory supplies, and maintaining appropriate stock levels.
- Support daily laboratory workflow and coordinate with clinical staff to ensure efficient patient care.
- Participate in supervisory training related to:
- Laboratory operations
- Staff coordination and scheduling
- Compliance and quality assurance
- Workflow improvement
- Staff training and competency
- Assist with onboarding and training of laboratory personnel as needed.
- Maintain a professional, patient-centered environment consistent with the standards of a private specialty practice.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field.
- Current MLT certification through American Society for Clinical Pathology or equivalent certifying agency required.
- Previous clinical laboratory experience of 2+ years preferred, in a private practice or outpatient clinical setting.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
- Interest in leadership development and advancement into a laboratory supervisor role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hands-on experience with specimen collection/processing, phlebotomy, and analysis skills related to physiology and anatomy knowledge.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervising experience within a research or clinical laboratory setting; ability to manage laboratory staff effectively.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS), document management systems, and compliance management practices.
- Experience working in hospital or healthcare environments with knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs monitoring, and aseptic techniques.
- Strong data management skills including data collection, analysis, report generation, and maintaining accurate documentation for regulatory purposes.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures related to QA/QC processes, laboratory techniques for assay development, and adherence to safety standards in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
