Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum development plans tailored to early childhood education standards and individual student needs
- Support classroom management by fostering positive behavior management strategies and maintaining a safe learning environment
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional development
- Provide childcare support during transitions, meal times, nap times, and outdoor play to ensure well-being and comfort of all children
- Collaborate with staff to adapt lesson planning for children with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services
- Uphold mandated reporting laws by accurately documenting and reporting any concerns related to child welfare or safety
- Maintain clear communication with parents and team members regarding classroom activities, child progress, and behavioral observations
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in classroom settings such as daycare, preschool, or private schools is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles, including toddler care and Montessori methods is advantageous
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques, behavior management strategies, and lesson planning for young learners
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and team members
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and support multiple age groups as needed
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety protocols
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education, special education, or related fields is a plus but not mandatory
