Our Restaurant
We are a well-established fixture in Litchfield County’s dining community, recognized for elevated yet welcoming American bistro fare. For more than three decades, our guests have relied on us for polished service, thoughtfully prepared dishes, and a warm neighborhood feel. We are now looking for a Chef de Cuisine to take the helm of our kitchen and help guide the restaurant into its next phase.
Role Summary
This is a hands-on leadership role for a chef who loves being on the line as much as directing a team. The ideal candidate enjoys developing thoughtful, seasonal menus, mentoring cooks, and maintaining a focused, professional kitchen environment. You should bring creativity, consistency, and a passion for working with high-quality, market-driven ingredients.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee and manage kitchen operations.
- Lead by example through active cooking and plating during service to ensure consistent execution.
- Plan, develop, and refresh seasonal menus in partnership with the restaurant owner.
- Source ingredients from local purveyors and markets, maintaining strong vendor relationships.
- Uphold all health, safety, and sanitation regulations in accordance with local codes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen, including prep, storage, and service areas.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–7 years of experience in fine dining or high-end restaurant kitchens.
- Demonstrated success running a kitchen with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong foundation in seasonal, ingredient-focused cooking and menu development.
- Proven experience planning menus and costing dishes.
- Hands-on, collaborative leadership style with clear, professional communication skills.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
