Front Office Medical Receptionist-Biligual in English and Spanish
Position Summary:
The Medical Office Front Desk Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming, professional environment while managing patient scheduling, registration, phone calls, insurance verification, and administrative tasks. The receptionist plays a key role in ensuring efficient office operations and providing exceptional customer service.
Certifications/Education Requirements:
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent
- Medical Front office experience preferred but not mandatory
- Spanish and English speaking is mandatory
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at desk and working at a computer
- Prolonged periods of standing, bending and some squatting
- May need to assist patients
- Frequent use of computers, telephones and other office equipment
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at a time
Job Requirements
- 1+ years' proven working experience as a Front Office Medical Receptionist
- Basic understanding of insurance verification and medical office procedures preferred
- 1+ years' EMR systems experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- Excellent knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills
- Posession of strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Strong social perceptiveness and service orientation skills
- Be self motivated and have a strong work ethic and sense of confidentiality
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and patient management software
- Drug Test and Background check required
Job Duties/Responsibilites:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
- Answer incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and direct calls appropriately.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Check patients in and out accurately and efficiently.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and obtain necessary authorizations when required.
- Collect copayments, deductibles, outstanding balances, and issue receipts.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Scan, upload, and maintain accurate electronic medical records.
- Respond to patient portal messages and appointment requests.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Process referrals and obtain medical records as requested.
- Monitor the reception area to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
- Assist with administrative duties including faxing, filing, copying, and preparing paperwork.
- Handle patient concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the needs of the practice.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a professional outpatient medical office. The receptionist interacts regularly with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives and must maintain a calm, courteous, and professional demeanor at all times.

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
