As an integral part of our office, you will support the dentist with chairside assistance, patient management, and clinical procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Duties
- Assist dentist during a variety of dental procedures, including restorative, and prosthodontics dentistry treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed rigorously.
- Manage electronic dental records such as Dentrix to document patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care instructions in clear, understandable language.
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments with dental receptionists and managing medical documentation and coding for insurance claims.
- Maintain infection control protocols and ensure all clinical areas meet OSHA standards for safety and cleanliness.
- Assist with medical records management, ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines for confidentiality.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a busy dental office setting, preferably with exposure to general and prosthodontics dentistry.
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques.
- Ability to handle medical documentation accurately while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of all ages.
