Job Summary
We're a growing local cabinet company with locations across Hampton, Chesapeake, and Richmond, VA, and we're looking for an experienced Cabinet Finish Sprayer / Cabinet Finisher to join our team full-time.
Previous professional experience specifically spraying and finishing cabinetry is required. Applicants without cabinet finishing experience should not apply.
Qualified candidates will also be required to complete a hands-on skills demonstration during the hiring process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, sand, prime, and spray cabinet doors, drawer fronts, panels, trim, and other cabinet components
- Mix and apply cabinet paints, stains, primers, sealers, and topcoats
- Set up and adjust spray equipment
- Inspect finished cabinetry and correct imperfections as needed
- Clean and maintain spray equipment and finishing areas
- Maintain consistent quality while keeping production moving efficiently
- Interpret production documents such as work orders, specifications, and quality standards to ensure accurate application of finishes.
- Conduct visual color comparisons and inspect finished surfaces for consistency with color standards and quality expectations.
- Maintain a clean work environment by following construction painting surface preparation procedures and adhering to PPE requirements such as respirators and respiratory protection gear.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and surface quality throughout the finishing process.
Requirements
- Professional experience spraying and finishing kitchen or bathroom cabinetry
- Experience with professional spray equipment, including HVLP or similar systems
- Knowledge of sanding, preparation, priming, spraying, and finishing techniques
- Ability to produce a smooth, consistent, professional-quality finish
- Ability to identify and correct common finish defects
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work full-time
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Automotive, residential, or commercial painting experience does not substitute for cabinet finishing experience.
