Position: Logistics Outbound Coordinator

Pay Rate: $23.00 - $26.00/Hourly (depending on experience)
Full-Time - 8 hours Monday to Friday

Job Summary:
This is a multi-faceted position in a dynamic environment. Reporting to the Inside Sales and Customer Service Manager, the Traffic Coordinator has overall responsibility for all duties related to outbound freight e.g FedEx, UPS. Coordinates inbound shipments with freight forwarders. An outbound scheduler that communicates delivery dates and deadlines to customer service to meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinates and schedules all import and export outbound shipments.
- Ensure shipments are managed in an efficient manner and delivered on time.
- Coordinates all international shipments with internal departments, freight forwarders, and customers.
- Assists in problem solving, expediting, and resolving claims issues.
- Works in conjunction with our Materials Manager to qualify and select inbound and outbound carriers, based upon pricing, delivery, and service.
- Maintains an ongoing business relationship with existing carriers to ensure expeditious service, while continuously evaluating other potential carriers.
- Identify ways to improve carrier service.
- Monitors and ensures completion of paperwork for outgoing non-invoiced inventory such as returns, and items for rework.
- Prepares Bills of Lading and schedules all shipments with domestic and international carriers.
- Maintains and updates shipping records & procedures & prepares shipping reports.
- Ensure that appropriate paperwork is stored and filed accordingly.
- Completes data entry of UPS and FedEx shipping information.
- Keeps Production Supervisors and Customer Service Representatives up to date with the latest shipping information, advising delays and incomplete order information.
- Provides back-up assistance to the Warehouse Coordinator.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Background and Skills Required:
- H.S. Diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years’ experience in any of the following functions within a manufacturing or distribution company: shipping, inventory, materials, or warehousing.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 to 50 lbs.
- Detail oriented and can manage multiple priorities at one time in an organized manner.
- Strong computer skills. Is proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook).
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, as well as listening skills.
- Customer centric - looks for ways to improve relationships between both internal and external customers.
- Stress-tolerant, possesses the ability to deal with difficult situations while maintaining performance and a positive attitude.
Additional Background and Skills Preferred:
- College-level course work; A.A. or B.S. Degree.
- Experience working in ERP Systems, Infor Visual preferred.
- Understanding of basic international shipping and export procedures a bonus.
- Knowledge of trade compliance laws.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- This position is on-site, in-office.
- Mostly sedentary work does work in-office at a sitting or standing desk.
- Ability to walk around the facility from their desk to Production and Customer Service to resolve problems and obtain information to find solutions to shipping problems.
- Verbally communicates with other team members, and carriers in-person and over the phone.
- Visually inspects packing slips.
- Reads and inputs information into software programs and updates customer orders.
- Types frequently and uses repetitive wrist motion to do so.
Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
