Aldersgate Center for Child Development is seeking a Kitchen Coordinator to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children enrolled in our child care center. This position is responsible for planning, preparing, and serving meals while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment in accordance with licensing regulations and food safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve daily breakfast, lunch, and snacks for children of various ages.
- Create and maintain weekly menus that meet nutritional guidelines, licensing requirements, and CACFP standards while providing a variety of healthy, child-friendly meal options.
- Accommodate food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special nutritional needs.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
- Ensure proper food storage, handling, and preparation procedures.
- Monitor and maintain food temperature logs and required documentation.
- Manage food inventory and assist with ordering supplies.
- Wash dishes and kitchen equipment and complete daily cleaning duties.
- Comply with all state licensing requirements, health department regulations, and food safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous cooking or food service experience.
- Experience in a child care center, school, healthcare, or commercial kitchen preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Must pass all required background checks and meet state licensing requirements.
