Job Overview
The Patient Coordinator is the welcoming face of Yakima Free Clinic. This role manages the daily flow of patients and volunteers, and coordinates care. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and committed to serving our community with dignity and respect.
Key Responsibilities:
Front Desk & Patient Support
o Greet and check in patients with warmth and professionalism.
o Maintain accurate and confidential patient records.
o Assist patients with forms, registration, and follow-up scheduling.
o Provide information about clinic services and community resources.
o Maintain a patient call inbox.
o Assisting with maintaining the cleanliness of the lobby and front desk.
Scheduling & Coordination
o Manage appointment scheduling for medical clinics and follow-up visits.
o Maintain accurate calendar of providers in the clinic.
Communication & Administrative Support
o Answer clinic phones and respond to patient inquiries.
o Handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
o Maintain communication logs and appointment reminders.
o Assist with data entry, reports, and correspondence.
o Organizing medical test orders and prescriptions for patients for pick up.
Volunteer Management
o Support clinic volunteers (providers, interpreters, and administrative assistants) during clinic and answer questions as needed.
Help onboard new volunteers at the front desk and ensure they feel supported and appreciated.
Teaching: all staff of Yakima Free Clinic should have a passion for teaching those around them.
Qualifications:
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
· Comfort working with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
· Basic computer proficiency (Google Workspace, Excel, or similar tools).
· Commitment to the mission and values of Yakima Free Clinic.
Preferred:
· Prior experience in a healthcare, social services, or nonprofit setting.
· Familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality practices.
· Experience coordinating volunteers or community programs.
Required:
· Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Pay: $19.00 - $24.50 per hour
