Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and safety-conscious Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Truck Driver to join our team. We are a small steel fabricator and erector. This job would consist of pulling a 22' double axel trailer with a 1 ton truck around the Tulsa area. Candidate would be responsible for loading at the shop, delivering to the field and if needed using equipment to offload trailer as needed.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate 1 ton truck and 22 foot trailer on local roads.
- Plan routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery schedules and ensure timely arrivals
- Load and unload freight manually or with forklift assistance, adhering to logistics cargo handling standards and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, including logs for hours of service, load manifests, and delivery receipts
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure compliance with safety standards and perform basic truck maintenance as needed
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with clean driving record and proven experience in commercial truck driving
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety standards for truck driving
- Ability to manually handle cargo safely using appropriate equipment like forklifts when necessary
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and route planning for efficient deliveries
- Strong understanding of load & unload procedures and truck loading/unloading safety practices
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, punctuality, and customer service
