Bartender – FoxFire Restaurant & Steakhouse
FoxFire Restaurant & Steakhouse | Downtown Geneva, IL
FoxFire is looking for friendly, dependable, team-oriented bartenders to join our front-of-house team.
We are a busy, family-owned steakhouse in downtown Geneva with a large wine program, craft cocktail program, full bar, and strong dinner business seven days a week.
Bartending experience is a plus, but it is not required. We are willing to train the right person.
If you have a great personality, strong work ethic, basic math skills, and want to learn cocktails, wine, spirits, food, and hospitality, we want to meet you.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic beverages
- Follow FoxFire drink recipes and portion standards
- Use jiggers and measured pours for cocktail consistency
- Provide friendly, professional service to guests at the bar
- Learn our wine list, cocktail program, spirits, and food menu
- Make beverage and food recommendations
- Take food orders and serve guests dining at the bar
- Handle cash, credit cards, and guest checks accurately
- Keep the bar clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service
- Stock wine, liquor, beer, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and supplies
- Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and side-work duties
- Work closely with servers, bussers, hosts, kitchen staff, and management
What We’re Looking For
You do not need to be an experienced bartender to apply.
We are looking for people who are:
- Friendly and comfortable talking with guests
- Dependable and punctual
- Team-oriented
- Willing to learn
- Comfortable with basic math and money handling
- Able to follow recipes and measurements accurately
- Organized and able to multitask
- Comfortable working in a busy restaurant environment
- Interested in learning about wine, cocktails, spirits, steak, and hospitality
Previous bartending, serving, restaurant, wine, or hospitality experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to:
- Stand for approximately 6 hours or more
- Lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Bend, reach, stock, clean, and move throughout the shift
- Work efficiently during busy dinner service
Typical Schedule
FoxFire is open Monday through Sunday.
Monday–Thursday: approximately 3:00 PM–10:30 PM
Friday & Saturday: approximately 3:00 PM–10:00 PM or 5:00 PM–12:00 AM
Sunday: approximately 3:00 PM–9:00 PM
Weekend availability is important.
