Do you like to keep busy in a fun and sometimes mildly quirky work place, where your team and employer has your back? We are looking for a highly motivated, skilled and positive team member to join our family! We are one of the few independently owned practices still in this area with no Private Equity Investors and no corporate overlords to please. Ideally this candidate would have a particular interest in leadership and management as well as dentistry - we are looking to move towards performing more detailed dental procedures like sealants, bonding etc. and will provide the training for any missing gaps in knowledge. We currently do full mouth rads and charting with extractions and flaps. This is a lead position, so you will need experience leading and training teams, which will require patience and kindness, as well as an understanding of not just the technical skills involved with treating animals, but also a little of the business side of things and how to support our overall mission.
We are a full-service animal hospital in Canyon Lake and we are specifically looking for an experienced licensed Veterinary Technician who is allowed to use their acquired skills and education to perform procedures within the scope of the CA RVT license( sedation/induction/dentistry/sutures/client education/handling controlled medications etc) and allow our DVMs to do the DVM stuff. We offer preventative medicine, dentistry, surgery, and have a special interest in small exotics (Rabbits, Gpigs, reptiles, birds etc)
Ideal candidates will possess the following:
- Minimum 3 years direct experience
- A current, up to date CA RVT license
- Excellent communication skills with fellow colleagues, clients and patients.
- Motivating, through good leadership skills, individuals to achieve their best, and helping the team to work together seamlessly.
- Assisting with the daily flow of exams and procedures.
- Training team members on more technically demanding skills
- Surgical Prep/Anesthesia Monitoring
- Dental procedures for cats and dogs.
- Restraint and professional animal handling.
- Anesthetic induction, monitoring and recovery.
- Cystocentesis, venipuncture, and placing IV catheters
- Client education and call backs
- Experience with running lab equipment
In addition, we urge our employees to maintain a strong work ethic, a focus on teamwork, communication skills, multi-tasking ability, and the capacity to work without direct supervision is required. We offer competitive compensation and monthly bonuses when the hospital grows. Got kids? Most of us do! - we are flexible and can tailor things to drop off/pick up needs in most situations. If you think you may be a great fit or need a change of scenery please send your cover letter and resume.
