Job Overview
This position is 2 hours a week, the time is flexible for us, so it could be a morning chapel at 10:00 or 10:30 or an afternoon chapel at 3:00 or 4:00. The day is also optional, can be any day Monday- Friday, one day per week. You are completely responsible for the lesson plan and the music. However we will give you materials you need to make your chapel experience dynamic! We need someone who can sing, dance, teach a bible lesson with music and video (we will provide instruments, puppets, technology, etc.) We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Children's Chapel Leader to inspire and guide our young learners in faith-based activities and spiritual development. This paid position involves creating engaging religious programs, fostering a welcoming atmosphere, and supporting children’s emotional and spiritual growth within our Christian community. If you are a parent of a young child, you may bring them with you while you work, free of charge. However, you will be required to fill out paperwork for your child while they are on site with you.
Responsibilities
- Lead weekly chapel sessions that incorporate storytelling, singing, prayer, and interactive activities tailored for young children
- Develop age-appropriate lesson plans that align with Christian teachings and values
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment where children feel safe to express their faith and questions
- Coordinate special religious events, holiday celebrations, and community outreach activities
- Collaborate with staff and parents to support each child's spiritual journey and social-emotional well-being
- Provide mentorship and guidance to children needing additional support or counseling in faith matters
- Assist in fundraising efforts related to church programs or community projects
Requirements
- Experience working with young children in educational or religious settings
- Vibrant, upbeat leader with the ability to lead in song, with music and dancing!
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage children effectively
- Excellent communication skills to connect with children, parents, and staff
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles and practices
- Ability to plan and organize events that promote spiritual growth
- Compassionate demeanor with a passion for mentoring preschoolers in faith-based environments
- Background in Christian Education, music, teaching, or related fields is preferred but not required
- Must be able to sing and get a crowd of preschoolers up and dancing with praise and worship! However you do not need to have a great singing voice or be a professional singer!
