Production Manager
Pay: $75,000 to $85,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Location: Horseheads, NY

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations and drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on manufacturing leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and helping an operation achieve its production and customer goals.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct daily production operations while ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and on-time delivery
- Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer requirements and available resources
- Supervise, coach, and develop production supervisors, technicians, machine operators, and production personnel
- Establish production goals and performance expectations while monitoring productivity, attendance, and performance
- Manage staffing levels, workforce planning, departmental resources, and budgets
- Monitor production and quality metrics and identify opportunities for improvement
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, waste reduction, quality, and customer satisfaction
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions related to production and quality concerns
- Partner with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, and Customer Service teams to achieve operational goals
- Help identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, workflow, and resource utilization
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety requirements, quality standards, work instructions, and PPE requirements
- Investigate safety incidents and help implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate production records, reports, and KPIs
Qualifications:
- Previous leadership experience within a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and production operations
- Experience developing production schedules and workforce plans
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and motivate production teams
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and operational efficiency
- Experience with ERP or production management software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, although equivalent manufacturing leadership experience may be considered
