Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Steel Fabrication Specialist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming metal materials into precise, high-quality fabricated components used in construction, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Your expertise in mechanical blueprint interpretation, welding techniques, and metal fabrication processes will be essential to ensure the integrity and safety of our products. Duties
- Read and interpret detailed technical drawings, blueprints, and mechanical blueprints to determine fabrication specifications and procedures.
- Operate a variety of power tools, hand tools, and machining equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal materials including sheet metal and structural steel components.
- Perform welding using various techniques such as MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding), ensuring adherence to AWS (American Welding Society) standards and ASME codes & standards.
- Measure materials accurately using calipers, micrometers, measuring instruments, and shop math to ensure precise fabrication according to specifications.
- Utilize plasma cutting, pipe threading, rigging, and soldering techniques to complete complex assemblies.
- Conduct quality inspections on fabricated parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions meet project requirements.
- Follow safety protocols rigorously while operating equipment such as forklifts, power tools, and machining devices in the fabrication shop environment.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly processes and ensure all fabrication activities comply with safety regulations and project deadlines.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with a strong understanding of safety protocols and site logistics.
- Proficiency in welding techniques including MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW, with certification preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and mechanical diagrams accurately.
- Skilled in using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, shop math for precise fabrication work.
- Mechanical knowledge of metal materials including sheet metal fabrication and structural steel components.
- Experience operating rigging equipment, plasma cutters, pipe threading tools, and power tools safely.
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards for pressure vessels or piping is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fabrication shop environment with manufacturing or construction experience preferred.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to welding, machining, rigging, and handling metal materials.

Pay: $17.50 - $33.00 per hour
