Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting a broad range of human resources functions, with a primary focus on full-cycle recruitment and talent acquisition. The HR Generalist supports employee relations, performance management, training and development, policy administration, compliance, and other HR initiatives. In additional to general HR functions, this role partners with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, source and attract qualified candidates, facilitate the interview and selection process, extend offers, and coordinate onboarding activities to ensure a positive candidate and new hire experience. Serving as a trusted resource for employees and leaders, this position helps foster an engaged, productive, and compliant workplace while contributing to organizational success through effective talent acquisition and human resource practices.

Key Responsibilities & Expected Results:

Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.

Primary recruiting lead on all corporate, Langhorne, and Fairmont job openings, as well as assist with companywide openings.

Provide day-to-day guidance and support to line management in managing hourly employees, including coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.

Foster a collaborative work environment by working closely with both management and hourly employees to improve work relationships, enhance morale, and drive productivity and retention across the workforce.

Provide on-site support to employees for benefit-related questions and resolve any benefit-related issues, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Support payroll processing, time and attendance systems, and scheduling for hourly employees. Ensure that all processes are in compliance with company policies.

Focus on all aspects of recruiting, hiring, and onboarding new salaried/hourly employees, including posting job openings, conducting interviews, and administering the hiring process. Ensure new hires are properly integrated into the company.

Build and maintain relationships with local universities, colleges, and high schools to attract new talent and grow our team of hourly employees, while supporting workforce diversity and inclusion.

Be available to work beyond normal work hours to fulfill responsibilities, manage any urgent HR issues, or support operations during peak times and occasional weekends.

Carry out any other duties related to the position as required, ensuring the smooth operation of HR functions within the unionized environment.

Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience
-
At least 1-3 years in a HR Generalist position required, experience with recruiting strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree or relevant industry experience preferred.

Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including talent acquisition, human performance, and federal and state employment laws.

Safety conscious and willing to work in an industrial environment.
-
Strong background in recruiting for non-exempt and exempt roles strongly preferred.
-
Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills.
-
Disciplined time management and multi-tasking skills.
-
Payroll and scheduling experience preferred.

Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
