Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
- Perform clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing blood, and assisting with minor procedures in outpatient or clinic settings.
- Manage medical administrative duties like ICD coding for diagnoses, scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and verifying insurance information.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology essential for accurate documentation and effective communication.
- Experience working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or emergency departments with Level I or Level II trauma center exposure preferred.
- Proficiency with EHR systems for documentation of patient encounters and medical data management.
- Ability to perform clinical procedures including intake assessments, vital signs measurement.
- Familiarity with ICD coding standards for diagnosis classification and billing processes.
- Excellent patient service skills—compassionate communication, active listening, and professionalism—especially when supporting diverse populations such as geriatrics or pediatric patients in PICU settings.
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
