My client, a top US architectural firm with over 60 years in business, is seeking a Contract/Risk Specialist to join their team due to retirement. The current manager will train this person to transition into the manager role next year. This company boasts stability, low employee turnover, and growth opportunities. Overview of the Contract / Risk Specialist Role:
- Work in close collaboration with the current Risk Manager, firm leadership, Principals, design team members, and the marketing team.

Review, draft, negotiate, and communicate proposals and contracts with clients, project owners, consultants, and business partners (there are already master agreements with clients/vendors).

Analyze RFQs and RFPs to identify potential contractual risks and provide guidance on response strategies.

Review special forms, certifications, and supplemental conditions within project specifications and provide recommendations.

Deliver risk management and insurance education throughout the organization, including training for emerging professionals and promoting awareness of risk management best practices.

Serve as the primary liaison with external legal counsel and insurance providers regarding contracts, claims, and professional liability matters.

Maintain and track contract-related records, certificates of insurance, and other compliance documentation.

Conduct research related to professional licensing requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

Support project teams by identifying and resolving issues related to contractual obligations, risk exposure, and professional liability.

Travel 10% to industry events and to occasionally meet with clients.
Qualifications of the Contract / Risk Specialist Role:
- 3-5 years of contract experience, including contract negotiation and drafting, in risk identification, assessment, and mitigations

Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Architecture, engineering, or construction industry experience preferred but not required.
