Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration following prescribed protocols and ensure accurate documentation
- Support residents during meals by meal preparation, feeding assistance, and maintaining proper nutrition standards
- Monitor vital signs and observe health status to identify any changes or concerns promptly
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and reduce challenging behaviors
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, and personal growth
- Follow safe patient lifting practices and manual handling techniques to prevent injury for both residents and staff
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care settings is highly preferred
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; ongoing training is encouraged to stay current
- Ability to operate a standard passenger car for transportation needs when necessary
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments is a strong asset
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members
- Compassionate attitude with a strong commitment to resident safety and well-being
Qualifications
- High School or GED quivalent
- Must be willing to work in the South Suburbs of Chicago (South Holland, Homewood, Olympia Fields)
