About Safe Families for Children
Safe Families for Children is a faith-motivated, community-based program that supports parents facing crisis by connecting them with compassionate volunteers, churches, and community resources. Our mission is to strengthen families, keep children safe, and build supportive communities.
Position Summary
The Family Coach plays a vital role in supporting parents, monitoring child safety, coordinating services, and engaging volunteers and community partners. This position works closely with families, churches, referral agencies, and Safe Families volunteers to help families achieve stability.
Responsibilities
- Support and monitor families participating in the Safe Families program.
- Provide oversight, training, and support to volunteer Family Coaches and Host Families.
- Build relationships with referral partners, churches, and community organizations.
- Assist parents with goal setting and connecting to community resources.
- Coordinate child placements, transportation, and volunteer support.
- Recruit, train, and certify volunteers.
- Track program data and maintain accurate documentation.
- Participate in weekly staff meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development.
- Assist with community outreach, fundraising events, and public awareness efforts.
- Provide on-call support for emergencies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- Experience working with children and families.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to transport children when needed.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to supporting the mission of Safe Families for Children.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with faith communities.
- Experience recruiting, training, or managing volunteers.
- Public speaking or community presentation experience.
- Knowledge of child welfare and community resources.
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
