Responsibilities
- Interpreting blueprints and specifications - Be able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications to determine the required bending angles, dimensions, and other parameters for each part.
- Setting up the machine - Be able to select the appropriate tooling (dies and punches), adjust machine settings such as speed, pressure, and depth, and ensuring proper alignment of the metal.
- Operating the press brake - Control the machine to bend the metal according to the specified requirements, monitor the process to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Inspecting and measuring parts - Use precision measuring tools to verify that the fabricated parts meet the required dimensions and tolerances.
- Troubleshooting and maintenance - Responsible for identifying and resolving any issues that may arise during the bending process and performing routine maintenance on the machine.
- Measuring and Marking - Precisely measuring and marking sheet metal pieces for accurate cutting and shaping.
- Cutting and Shaping - Utilizing hand and power tools, including shears, brakes, and saws,
- Collaboration - Working effectively with other team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed successfully.
Requirements
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using various hand and power tools, metalworking machinery, and welding techniques.
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Mathematical Skills: Strong understanding of measurements, geometry, and basic algebra.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve issues during the fabrication process.
- Attention to Detail: Keen eye for accuracy and quality in all aspects of the work.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy materials.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members and supervisors.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
