Our client is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness, organization, and overall presentation of a private residence to the highest standards. Reporting to the House Manager, this individual will be responsible for the day-to-day housekeeping operations of the home while working collaboratively with other housekeepers and household staff. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, discreet, and takes pride in creating a warm, immaculate living environment. This is a hands-on role requiring exceptional attention to detail, flexibility, and a service-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the overall cleanliness and presentation of the residence through daily housekeeping, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, bathroom sanitation, kitchen cleaning, and general upkeep.
- Perform routine deep cleaning and care for furniture, fixtures, artwork, glass, metalwork, upholstery, rugs, and specialty surfaces.
- Make beds, change linens, care for indoor plants, and manage recycling and trash removal.
- Manage all household laundry, including washing, folding, ironing, steaming, and organizing clothing and linens.
- Care for delicate garments, luxury fabrics, and fine linens, while coordinating dry cleaning as needed.
- Maintain organized closets, wardrobes, and linen storage.
- Keep storage areas, closets, pantries, and household systems organized and well maintained.
- Monitor household inventories, restock cleaning supplies and household essentials, and assist with occasional shopping.
- Maintain housekeeping equipment and ensure supplies are properly stored.
- Create and manage housekeeping schedules to ensure the residence is consistently maintained.
- Track maintenance needs, coordinate vendor appointments, and communicate repairs to the House Manager.
- Assist with preparing the home for guests and events, support household moves, travel to additional properties as needed, and assist with other projects as requested.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in large, high-end, or fully staffed private residences required.
- Conversational English required, Spanish a plus.
- Strong knowledge of luxury household cleaning techniques, fine fabrics, delicate surfaces, and proper garment care.
- Experience using smart home systems and modern household appliances.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities independently.
- Professional, polished, and service-oriented demeanor with a strong commitment to discretion and confidentiality.
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to adapt to changing household needs.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with household staff and vendors.
- Self-motivated, dependable, punctual, and proactive with exceptional attention to detail.
- Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and limited on-call hours as needed.
- Comfortable operating household appliances, laundry equipment, cleaning tools, computers, and mobile devices.
- Ability to travel independently between multiple properties when required.
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current vehicle insurance.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and willing to successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation.
Location: Atherton, CA
Salary: $60/hour + paid OT and great benefits
