Whit's Frozen Custard is looking for a Store Leader who wants to do more than just run a shift.
The best leaders create an environment where both customers and employees truly enjoy being at Whit's. That's the kind of leader we're looking for. As a local, family-owned business, we believe every customer interaction is an opportunity to strengthen the relationships we've built within our community.
Whether you're looking to put your leadership experience to use a few evenings each week, are searching for a rewarding second job, looking for a long-term opportunity, or ready to take the next step in your career, we'd love to meet you. While this position may be based primarily at our Westerville or Sunbury location, candidates who are available to work at both locations are especially encouraged to apply.
Prior management experience is definitely helpful, but it isn't what ultimately determines whether you'll be successful at Whit's. We've found the people who are most successful at Whit's take pride in their work, naturally think a step ahead and enjoy taking on new challenges.
If you've never managed a team or led a shift before, but you've built a reputation for doing your job well and you're ready to take on more responsibility, we can help you develop into a confident and effective Store Leader. We'll teach you the custard business. What matters most is how you treat people, whether you take pride in your work and whether you're a person who naturally notices what needs done and follows through.
This isn't just another job – it’s an opportunity to make a real impact, take on meaningful responsibility and become someone your team can count on. If this sounds like the opportunity you're looking for, keep reading.
What You Will Do:
Our custard is why customers walk through our doors, but the experience they have with us is why they come back. As a Store Leader, you'll play an important role in both.
- Lead by example, creating an environment where both customers and employees have a great experience at Whit's.
- Coach, encourage and support a team made up primarily of high school students by setting clear expectations, keeping them engaged, focused and productive while helping them develop valuable workplace skills.
- Take ownership of your shift by identifying and anticipating store needs and taking appropriate action to ensure the store and staff are always prepared to meet customer expectations.
- Be able to independently think through challenges and identify which issues require escalation.
How you can make an impact:
Successful Store Leaders understand that leading a shift means being responsible for more than just their own work. You’ll be successful if you can:
- Make sure every product served during your shift is something you'd be proud to hand to a customer, regardless of who made it.
- Look for opportunities to connect with customers, whether it's welcoming someone for the first time or recognizing a familiar face.
- Implement practical solutions to solve problems and help prevent recurring issues.
- Take pride in the store by never leaving something that needs attention for someone else to handle.
- Take an active role in ensuring the overall success of not only your shift, but the entire store.
- Help young employees learn, improve and succeed by providing clear direction and timely feedback throughout each shift.
- Always show up when scheduled because we're a small team and we're counting on you.
This is not a seasonal job. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of our team long-term. This position offers competitive pay based on experience, availability and level of responsibility. We also offer shared tips, paid training, employee discounts and paid vacation and holidays (for qualifying employees working 30+ hours per week). Depending on your experience and availability, this position can be either part-time or full-time. We work hard to build schedules around school, activities, family and other commitments. In return, we ask that this job also be one of your priorities.
