Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using manual handling techniques like Hoyer lifts and patient transfer methods.
- Monitor patients’ vital signs and observe for changes in health or behavior, documenting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations to ensure privacy and confidentiality.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, ensuring proper food handling and cleanliness standards are maintained.
- Support clients during outings or appointments by providing transportation assistance and ensuring their safety throughout community activities.
- Implement care plans designed by healthcare professionals, including medication administration, patient monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and supporting individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks, laundry, and organizing client spaces in compliance with health standards.
- Communicate effectively with clients’ families and healthcare teams to update on progress or concerns while respecting client rights under HIPAA guidelines.
Requirements
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including patient observation, vital signs measurement, medication administration, first aid & CPR certification.
- Experience supporting individuals with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), developmental disabilities or neurodevelopmental disorders is a strong plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting or manual handling tasks safely using appropriate patient transfer methods such as Hoyer lifts.
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Demonstrated patience and compassion when working with vulnerable populations requiring personalized support.
- Valid certifications in first aid & CPR; additional certifications related to hospice care or geriatrics are advantageous.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times.

Pay: $21.44 - $29.44 per hour
