Zone Protects is a fast-growing consumer-products manufacturer in Decatur, Alabama. We manufacture products sold online and through retailers across the country, and we are looking for the right person to become an important part of our production team as we grow.
This is a hands-on production job with real advancement potential. You will start by learning how we manufacture, fill, label, package and ship our products. If you are dependable, sharp and willing to learn, we want to teach you much more.
The right person can progress into responsibility for daily inventory, production scheduling, team coordination, purchasing and supply-chain management and potentially become our Production Manager or Operations Manager as the company expands.
We are not looking for someone who simply wants to punch a clock. We are looking for someone who wants to learn how a growing manufacturing company operates and earn greater responsibility as they prove themselves.
What You'll Do
- Work hands-on in production: mixing, filling, labeling, packaging and case packing
- Operate and help maintain production equipment
- Lift, move and handle products, cases and production materials throughout the workday
- Perform and record daily finished-goods inventory counts
- Use computers, spreadsheets and online systems to enter and manage production information
- Learn to review sales and inventory reports and determine what products need to be manufactured
- Help organize and eventually manage the daily production schedule
- Monitor bottles, labels, raw materials and other production supplies
- Research products, suppliers and information online as responsibilities grow
- Help with order fulfillment, packing and shipping when needed
- Keep production areas clean, organized and efficient
- Take on purchasing, supply-chain and operational responsibilities as your abilities develop
The Person We're Looking For

You should be:
- Comfortable with physical, hands-on work and being on your feet
- Comfortable working in a production/warehouse environment that can get warm during hotter months
- Comfortable using computers and able to learn Excel and spreadsheet-based systems
- Internet savvy and comfortable researching information and working with online systems
- Organized, detail-oriented and able to follow procedures accurately
- Able to learn new equipment, processes and technology
- Able to work independently without someone constantly telling you what to do next
- Flexible enough to move between production, inventory and order fulfillment as business needs change
- Interested in learning production planning, inventory management, purchasing and supply chain
- Looking for a place where strong performance can lead to more responsibility, higher pay and advancement
Previous manufacturing experience is helpful, but management experience is not required. We would rather find a smart, dependable person with a strong work ethic and leadership potential than someone who simply has a management title on a résumé.
Schedule & Pay
$18.00–$22.00 per hour, based on experience and ability.
Approximately 30-40 hours per week, generally during normal weekday production hours. Some flexibility is important because production demands change throughout the year.
