The Rewind Operator is responsible for operating rewind and finishing equipment to convert large rolls of printed labels into smaller rolls according to customer specifications. The operator is responsible for accurately following job tickets, maintaining product quality, and ensuring finished product is completed correctly and efficiently for shipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Operate rewind and finishing equipment safely and efficiently to meet production requirements.
- Review job tickets and accurately set up the rewinder according to customer specifications, including roll length, copy position, core size, and other job requirements.
- Inspect finished rolls throughout the production process to identify printing, material, winding, or other quality defects.
- Proactively identify and communicate quality issues before product reaches the customer.
- Measure and verify finished rolls to ensure they meet job specifications.
- Complete quality checks and production documentation accurately.
- Package and box finished product in preparation for shipment.
- Perform table work, sorting, counting, inspection, and other finishing duties as needed.
- Assist with machine setup, changeovers, material handling, and general production activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Work effectively with Press, Finishing, Quality, and Shipping teams to ensure orders are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Previous manufacturing, machine operation, converting, printing, or production experience preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn and operate production equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to read and follow written job instructions and specifications.
- Basic math skills, including the ability to measure, count, and verify dimensions.
- Ability to identify defects and take appropriate action when quality issues are discovered.
- Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a production team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and move rolls and finished cartons as required.
Work Environment
This job operates in a fast-paced production floor environment. This role uses printing press equipment. This includes exposure to loud noises or fumes and moving mechanical parts in the plant facility.
Physical Demands
Ability to lift 50lbs on a consistent basis.
Ability to stand for lengthy periods of time.
Ability to bend or kneel frequently.
Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour
