Our general dental practice in Smithtown is looking for a part-time dental hygienist to join our team. Thursdays 9-5 and Fridays 9-2 are the available days. The ideal candidate will have a calm, reassuring and friendly demeanor with a team-player mentality. Professionalism and punctuality are essential for this role. Responsibilities:
- Taking digital radiographs with digital sensors and using the iTero for wellness scans
- Reviewing medical history and having proper and complete documentation in Eaglesoft chart
- Completing hygiene exams, including periodontal probing depths, mobility, bleeding points
- Anesthesia certification
- Understands Soft Tissue Management and performs prophylaxis, SRP, periodontal maintenance as needed on patients
- Has knowledge and experience in laser bacterial reduction
- Providing tailored oral hygiene instruction with emphasis on educating patients' on home care and proper recall and preventative care
- Place sealants and fluoride on teeth
- Using Nitrous if needed
- Assist Dr with oral cancer screenings
- Maintaining and sterilizing instruments
- Cleaning and setting up operatory.
- Caring for work space and monitoring inventory
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $55.00 per hour
