Plumbing industry experience is required for this position.
Crosstown Plumbing is a growing plumbing supply company located in East Orange, NJ. We are looking for an experienced Inside Sales Representative who understands plumbing products, enjoys working with customers, and takes pride in providing outstanding service.
The ideal candidate has previous experience working in a plumbing supply house, wholesale distributor, plumbing contractor, or a similar environment and is comfortable identifying plumbing parts, fixtures, fittings, tools, and materials.
This role is responsible for assisting customers by phone, email, and in person, processing orders, providing product recommendations, sourcing specialty items, and building long-term customer relationships. You'll play an important role in helping our customers get what they need while contributing to the continued growth of our business.
Duties
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Assist customers with selecting the appropriate plumbing products, materials, and supplies.
- Process customer orders, quotes, and inquiries accurately and efficiently.
- Recommend products and solutions based on customer needs.
- Follow up on leads, quotes, and outstanding orders.
- Maintain knowledge of product offerings, pricing, and promotions.
- Coordinate with warehouse, purchasing, and delivery teams to ensure timely order fulfillment.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and provide effective solutions.
- Meet or exceed sales goals and performance expectations.
- Maintain accurate customer records within company systems.
- Assist with inventory checks, pricing updates, and product availability.
- Purchase and source special-order materials, parts, tools, equipment, and other items needed by customers and the business.
Experience
- Experience working in a plumbing supply house, wholesale distributor, or with a plumbing contractor.
- Working knowledge of plumbing products, fittings, fixtures, valves, pipe, tools, and supplies.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred
- Previous inside sales or customer service experience.
- Experience with CRM, ERP, or point-of-sale systems.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasional lifting of products or office materials up to 25 pounds.
- Work is performed in an office, showroom, and plumbing supply warehouse environment with regular interaction with customers, vendors, and team members.

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
