Responsibilities
- Assess neonates’ physical condition, including mobility, muscle tone, and developmental progress, to develop personalized care plans.
- Implement specialized physiotherapy interventions such as trigger point therapy, positioning techniques, and respiratory support tailored to neonatal needs.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, nurses, and occupational therapists—to coordinate comprehensive discharge planning and ongoing care strategies.
- Monitor and document patient progress meticulously within electronic medical record (EMR) systems, ensuring accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes.
- Educate families on home and community care practices to support continued development post-discharge.
- Manage acute care situations by responding swiftly to changes in patient physiology or condition, providing immediate therapeutic interventions.
- Participate in hospital rounds and contribute expert insights on pediatrics, orthopedics, geriatrics, and other relevant specialties to enhance overall patient care.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a licensed Physical Therapist with specialization or experience in pediatrics or NICU settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and developmental milestones relevant to neonatal patients.
- Proven experience working in inpatient hospital environments, outpatient clinics, or home health settings with a focus on pediatrics or geriatrics.
- Strong skills in discharge planning, care plan development, and patient education for home & community care.
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and patient management.
- Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure acute care scenarios requiring quick decision-making.
