Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Class A and B CDL Driver and become a vital part of our logistics operations! In this role, Thomas Transport is hiring a variety of commercial truck drivers, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and box trucks. Must have at least 2 years experience as well as have a tanker and hazmat endorsements. Your expertise will ensure the safe and efficient delivery of freight. We are looking for regional and local drivers who adhere to all safety and regulatory standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A or B commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and refrigerated trailers.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules while optimizing fuel efficiency.
- Comply with all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Handle logistics cargo with precision, ensuring proper securing of loads and adherence to safety standards for dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
- Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, pickups, logs, inspection reports, and incident reports as required by company policies and regulatory agencies.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving and delivery services.
- Strong knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT requirements, hazardous materials handling, and safety procedures.
- Ability to operate vehicles confidently and efficiently.
- Excellent manual handling skills for loading/unloading freight safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of logistics cargo handling procedures for freight transportation involving dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
- 2 years experience is needed.
- Must have tanker and hazmat endorsements.
