JOB ANNOUNCEMENT
CLASSIFICATION TITLE OF THE JOB: Paid Camp Host – Ice Cap Campground
CLASSIFICATION NUMBER: N/A
CLASSIFICATION CATEGORY: Seasonal Temporary, Non-Benefited Position working 20 hours per week.
DEPARTMENT: Linn County Parks and Recreation – Ice Cap Campground, located in the Willamette National Forest,
approximately 17.3 miles from McKenzie Bridge, Oregon.
START DATE: ASAP
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Greeting guests; answer questions; share local recreation opportunities with guests; display a kind and helpful
attitude; enjoy working in an environment with extensive public contact.
- Clean and stock restrooms, clean fire pits, pick up/dispose of trash and maintain trash receptacles.
- Assure cleanliness of campsites between guests; clean and maintain day use areas.
- Sell firewood and/or ice; assist guests with FC/FS registration and site selection, if needed.
- Immediately report any maintenance concerns, unsafe conditions or needed repairs to your supervisor.
- May include other specific duties as agreed upon with park staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to learn park rules, area information, and educate park visitors.
• Ability to follow directions, manage multiple tasks to park standards and complete tasks in a timely manner; work
independently.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions; must be available to work evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. This
position will require you to work 20 hours per week.
• Position requires frequent standing, walking, squatting, bending, kneeling, twisting, and repetitive forward and
overhead reaching. Ability to lift/carry 40lbs. and push objects weighing up to 75lbs; Ability to perform physical labor
for extended periods of time; ability to move safely over rough and uneven terrain.
- Ability to operate basic maintenance and landscaping tools.
• Perform janitorial service, including the use of chemicals.
• Ability to tow own RV in and out of campgrounds in emergency situations.
• Must be a graduate from a senior high school or have GED; possess valid Oregon Driver’s License with an
acceptable driving record; pass a criminal background check.
• Must abide by Linn County Parks/USFS Campground rules.
• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.
• Must live on site; maintain a tidy, free of clutter, campsite; must have a self-contained recreational vehicle; approved
RV must be fully operational, clean in appearance, well maintained and good working conditions.
• Personal property shall be covered by your own insurance; Linn County will not, and cannot, replace any lost, stole
or damaged property. RV must be insured and licensed with current tags.

SALARY RANGE: $15.05 per hour; campsite provided, for you, at no cost.
