Job Title: Senior Accountant
We are a growing company seeking a hands-on accounting professional with a pleasant, upbeat personality to assist with and manage our accounting and HR functions.
The primary focus of this position is to implement, train users on, and manage our new accounting software, SpringPoint. During this transition, you will help oversee the organization’s financial operations. Over time, this role will include supervising accounting functions, managing employee benefits, ensuring regulatory compliance, and assisting with the preparation of financial reports.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:
· Manage and implement new accounting system.
· Collaborate and oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, job cost tracking, inventory, and payroll.
· Assist in the maintenance and reconciliation of general ledger accounts, ensuring transactions are correctly recorded, and any variances are addressed promptly.
· Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions.
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
· Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financials.
· Monitor and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets.
Compliance and Reporting:
· Manage and ensure sales and use tax compliance and filing.
· W-9 Management and 1099 reporting.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
· Help maintain a strong internal control environment.
Benefit Management:
· Implement and manage a comprehensive benefits program, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee offerings.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to employee benefits.
· Prepare and maintain necessary documentation and reports regarding benefits and compliance requirements.
· Review invoices and allocate employee benefits by department for general ledger entry.
Audit and Compliance:
· Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
· Help maintain a strong internal control environment.
Qualifications:
· Positive, cheerful attitude.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
· Knowledge of employment, benefits laws, and regulations.
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or 10 plus years of progressive accounting experience.
· 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
· Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
· Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
· Excellent analytical, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
· This position typically works in an office environment, with a flexible 30-hour work week schedule. Occasional overtime may be required during month-end and year-end closing.
Pay:
· $33-38/per hour (30 work week)
