We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Mortgage Processor to join our dynamic team in the financial services industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the loan processing workflow, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and providing exceptional service to clients and loan officers. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of mortgage underwriting processes.
Responsibilities
- Verifies that loans originated can be done pursuant to available programs and investor guidelines.
- Reviews and analyzes all loan documentation received, such as, appraisals, loan applications, credit reports, income, assets, and title insurance.
- Checks ratios and verifies the accuracy of AUS findings and program applicability.
- Input loan file documentation accurately into necessary software programs.
- Reviews and Submits applications and conditions to the underwriter for approval.
- Orders third-party documentation and reports.
- Provides status updates to Mortgage Loan Officers
- Identifies potential issues and communicates with Mortgage Loan Officer.
- Monitors overall loan processing cycle time to ensure the loan closes on time.
- Obtains and verifies clearance of all underwriting conditions and prepares the file for submission to closing.
- Regular and Reliable attendance is required as an essential function of this position.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Previous experience in mortgage processing or a related role within the financial services sector is preferred.
- Familiarity with underwriting processes and FNMA guidelines is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in using mortgage processing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- A background in banking or contract management is a plus.
