Job Summary

Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and safety standards
- Operate basic kitchen equipment including mixers, ovens, and food processors with proper safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
- Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Follow food handling procedures to uphold food safety management standards and prevent contamination
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow
- Help with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying supervisors of stock levels
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food industry settings is preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques including knife skills and slicing methods
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Experience in food service environments such as restaurants or catering operations is advantageous
- Understanding of safety standards in production, food handling, and food safety management practices
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and adhere to meal preparation guidelines
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members
